Whether China's robot industry ready to large-scale machine substitution?

2021-12-11

Before this year in May, China's industrial robot production rose by 50.4%.

In recent years, China's robot production has maintained a rapid growth.Last year sales of 90000 units is close to one-third of global market share, China has become the world's largest industrial robot for four consecutive years. There are data to predict that by 2018, China's industrial robot market scale will reach 150000 units.

Robot density is far lower than the world average level of China, as the demographic dividend gradually disappear and industrial transformation and upgrading, the Yangtze river delta, the pearl river delta and

other places are pushing machine substitution, this robot industry in China has brought unprecedented huge opportunities.

However, in the face of the competition of foreign brands, Chinese robot industry always has the problems including the core technology and components subject to talents, the low-level redundant construction, the "small, scattered, weak" enterprise for a long time. So the large -scale machine substitution of domestic robot industry is also a severe test.

Pushing machine substitution in many places

According to the data of State Statistics Bureau in June 14th, Chinese output of industrial robots was 10057 (sets / sets)in May, achieving a high growth rate of 47%, and this is not just the phenomenon of one month: the robot industry has maintained a high growth rate in recent years, and the output of industrial robots has increased by 50.4% in the first five months of this year.

Looking ahead, the market of Chinese robot industry has been expanding at an extremely high rate for the last 7 years. According to a recent report of the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), Chinese industrial robots had been sold 90 thousand units in 2016, an increase of 31%, far higher than the world average growth rate of 14%.

From 2010 to 2016, Chinese industrial robot market has increased more than 5 times. Since 2013, China has become the world's largest market for industrial robots in the successive four years and its global market share grows up from 1/5 in 2013 to 1/4 in 2014, is close to 1/3 in last year.

Behind this, it is an unfolding boom of China machine substitutions. Xu Xiaolan, the secretary-general of the World Robot Conference, told the reporters that, from a national perspective, the phenomenon of the machine substitutions in large-scale areas has not appeared yet, but there is the trend of this change in the eastern coastal areas represented by Guangdong and Zhejiang.
